How much funding do companies receive from The ARK Challenge programs?
For the Summer 2014 program in Northwest Arkansas, you will receive $50,000. You also will receive free office space, industry research and marketing services to promote your startup. Additionally, you will have access to an invaluable network of key cluster experts, advisors, mentors, presenters and funders. For the Fall 2014 program in Little Rock, you will receive $20,000. A program like The ARK Challenge will increase the value of your company significantly and in an accelerated time period. In return The ARK Fund will receive a 6% equity stake in each company.
What kind of companies will The ARK Challenge accept?
The ARK is looking for technology startup companies and founders who are motivated and interested in focused coaching to reach the next level. Each startup team should consist of 2-5 people. Your company may be a graduate of another accelerator or one that already has customers. Because of our location and concentration of expertise, we believe we can provide the most value in the Summer 2014 program in Northwest Arkansas to high-growth, technology-oriented opportunities that focus on serving the retail and logistics industry clusters. The Fall 2014 program in Central Arkansas will focus on opportunities that focus on the sectors of government services, financial information technology and health information technology. Startup companies focused on building a new scalable web-based or mobile technology service or product are all eligible to apply.
When are the application deadlines?
The deadline to apply for the Summer 2014 program in Northwest Arkansas is May 12, 2014, at 11:59 pm CST. The deadline to apply for the Fall 2014 program in Central Arkansas is July 8, 2014, at 11:59 pm CST.
Do I have to be in Arkansas for the entire program?
Yes. We expect a full-time commitment at the program respective locations from ALL of our startup founders.
