Dennis practiced as a Certified Public Accountant with large as well as local accounting firms. He was also a Senior Manager with American Express Tax and Business Services. He holds a B.A. in Economics and Business from Hendrix College, an M.S. in Accounting from Oklahoma State University, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Law. While he has experience in auditing Fortune 500 companies, his practice focused primarily on small businesses and the challenges they face in the areas of taxation, business planning, and cash flow management. Dennis continues to consult small businesses on start-ups, business planning, and cash flow management.
Dennis is currently engaged in the field of oil and gas production. He is President of Hebron Properties, Inc. and Secretary-Treasurer of King Properties, Inc. and Fisher Enterprises, Inc., all of which are independent producers of oil and gas. He is also an Assistant Professor of Business and Political Science at the Heber Springs campus of Arkansas State University – Beebe. He is a licensed attorney in Arkansas, the Federal District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Tax Court. He formerly held Series 7 Registered Representative and Series 66 Registered Financial Advisor Licenses from the Securities and Exchange Commission, as well as Arkansas Life and Disability Insurance Licenses.
Dennis and his wife, Donna, live in Heber Springs. They have four children, six grandchildren, and are expecting two more grandchildren in September. He is a member and former Treasurer of the Rotary Club of Heber Springs. He rides motorcycles and is a Motorcycle Safety Foundation Certified Rider Coach. Dennis enjoys playing bass guitar in the Pearson City Limits band and with the worship team at New Life Church.
