Until 2014, Prakash Jalihal served as Managing Director and senior vice president of Fidelity Information Services (FIS) for Latin America and the Caribbean and was responsible for the direct management of sales and operations for the company’s business in that region The company now operates in over 30 countries in the region and is rated #1 Financial Technology company by FinTech. From 1976 through 1985, he played a key role as the overall manager of development of the company’s family of financial systems. Under his leadership, the company developed the most complete set of retail banking software in the industry.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bombay in 1970 and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Arkansas in 1972.
Mr. Jalihal currently serves as Chair for the Board of EAST Initiative, as a Senior Advisor for the
Global Technology Deployment Initiative and is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council for the University of Arkansas School of Engineering. He has previously served on the Global Advisory Board of the Thunderbird School for International Management in Arizona.
In 2009, he was inducted into the Arkansas Academy of Computing and in 2011, he was inducted into Arkansas Academy for Industrial Engineers and is now a member of Arkansas Accelerator.
From 1999 till 2004, Jalihal also owned and operated Party Land, a high-end party goods store in Fayetteville, AR.
